When Lupa first saw the (large) puppy that happily boofed a little fire in his face (nothing was singed, thankfully), he thought she might be his demon avatar in a different body. Because he couldn't feel anything inside him. She's not, and now that they've both gotten memories of the Fourth Wall, they both know that. She refuses to accept anything but Cerberus as her name though.
She's big for a Houndour, and determined to help her trainer! She's pretty sure other trainers used him like a pokemon? And like, who'd do that to a trainer! Everybody knows they're too fragile to fight! Very protective, and pushes herself hard so she can evolve and protect Lupa even better!
She's succeeded into evolving into a huge Houndoom and is very proud of herself. Honestly, she's not sure why she was a Houndour again for a couple weeks when she'd clearly met Lupa as this self. But whatever, now all is right in the world.

Bio:
Lupa have vague dream-like memories of being around a bunch of puppy Pokemon during the Fourth wall. Including some that looked like this guy! Apparently some breeder in Celadon had a dream?! about some newly arrived otherworlder trainer needing an Emotional Support Pokemon and decided to gift one of their recently hatched Furfrous to the next new trainer to arrive in either Cherrygrove or Pallet Town (because everybody knows otherworlders start in New Bark). So they sent two puppies to those places via Pidgey Post! Who knows what lucky kid got a Furfrou as a starter in Pallet Town, but Lupa was the lucky trainer in Cherrygrove.
Barong arrived in Pharaoh trim, but honestly likes to change his look a lot. Lupa does his best to help with grooming, but uh, aside from braids and ponytails doesn't know much. So Barong is currently in an unofficial trim that might be described as post-apocalyptic chic.

Lupa was fascinated at the puppy painting with his tail on the walls of the Ruins. He came back the next day with paint (white, of course) and tried to join in. Annnnd got kicked out for painting in the ruins. But the Smeargle he was painting with followed him out!
Smeargle doesn't understand why the humans at the Ruins don't like him painting on the walls. The Unown like it! The other Pokemon like it! This human liked it and tried to paint with him. And okay, his new trainer is... weird for a human. Anyway, his name is now Bersih, and he will paint anything that stands still long enough. Doesn't get what Lupa's deal with white is, but tries to respect that by making his green as pale as possible when he paints on Lupa's things. Now has a grey bandanna with white streaks as a gift from Lupa.

Another puppy Lupa remembers from the dreamlike fragments of the fourth wall! So when Lupa saw one, he put some berries down. And did the same the next time he saw one. And the next. And the next...
Several of those times, Lupa was really just spotting the same Growlithe, a scrappy and unusually small puppy who cleverly figured out that this trainer liked giving treats to Growlithes! But not necessarily to other Pokemon. And, well, when the big Houndoom dropped a ball in front of him after he'd done it a few times, who's he to say no? Regular treats and pettings are the best!
Lupa doesn't really understand the point of the balls (they're safe when the Pokemon in question is hurt in a fight. No getting worse from injuries; that's good!) but apparently the Pokemon seem to think they're a prerequisite to being with him and he's not going to say no if they want to be his comrades! This world has so many confusing little intricacies and he wishes the handbook explained better.
Well, when Lupa got a Fire Stone because Kashaf really wanted to evolve but it didn't work... Waste not! Everyone was surprised to wake up to a very small Arcanine. Kashaf was pissed off, and won the tussle (Lupa broke it up eventually, getting himself burned and bruised in the process ow) but with a little mediating, Orthrus apologized and promised to find a way for Kashaf to evolve and everybody is friends now. Lupa has resolved to ask around to see if he can find out how evolution works for Hisuian pokemon. He dearly hopes it isn't something that happens only in Hisui (something something the volcano in the Coastlands?) but is relieved that everyone seems to have made up and are close comrades again.

Hoa Sen joined up with the team on route 37 after a very satisfying meal of berries and dried fruits. Really, she'd been hanging out with Lupa and the others for a while before she caught herself. Cerberus had explained that Lupa doesn't quite know how to be a trainer because he was (she thinks) treated as if he was somebody else's Pokemon.
Lupa is just kind of ??? and going with it at this point. He still misses his Tribe and thinks he always will, but Pokemon are nice. He's not sure whether to be amused or kind of quietly horrified that he keeps attracting Pokemon with Fire affinity to join him though...
After Orthrus evolved, Hoa Sen wanted to evolve too! Luckily after gym badges and his job, Lupa had enough to get more Fire Stones. Lupa also gave her the Shadow Ball TM from Morty's gym.

The first thing Lupa saw (well, heard) on entering Goldenrod was a confused and alone puppy in a back alley. He promptly offered berries and gentle reassurance and immediately had a new Pokemon. Lupa had no idea that the Snubbull he'd found was a shiny until someone had told him. The baby also didn't get named until after the wishing festival.
That was, of course, when Lupa woke up to find Fred's cap. The little Snubbull immediately claimed the cap as his own, and well, what else could Lupa call him but Fred?
Fred has tried very hard to be brave and strong, but his deepest wish was really just to be able to be safe and loved and get to play without worrying about getting into battles or where his next meal would come from. His wish was granted in Lupa! Because Fred isn't really interested in battles, he doesn't level very fast, but that's okay with everybody. The others will take care of him!
Now has an Everstone, after the whole evolution brawl. Was very firm in indicating that he never wants to evolve! Or fight unless it's really necessary.

Just a day after finding Fred, Lupa practically got bowled over by a little lightning bolt having zoomies through the streets of Goldenrod. Once all the limbs were sorted, the bolt was revealed to be a Boltund! And promptly absorbed into the puppy clan by Cerberus. Lupa didn't get a say in the matter. And then the pokeball went fwip!!! and Lupa had a brief freakout concerning the concept of storage. He's still kind of opposed to it, honestly, but he's settled down now that he knows it's not harmful to the Pokemon.
Skoll (because Skoll in the Wolves did have a lightning affinity) has very few thoughts as long as he gets to run. Running

After Lupa accidentally warped to Azalea when meaning to go to Violet (and not realizing he could just warp again) he decided to walk the rest of the way, as it would help his team prepare for taking on Falkner. And a cute rock puppy started following him as he was going through Union cave! Her name is Hati now, because Lupa vaguely thinks her evolved form has something to do with the moon, and his tribe's Hatis had a moon thing going on.
Really, as soon as Hati saw the trainer with a bunch of other canine Pokemon, she knew he was the trainer for her! Offering her the ball in the middle of the customary battle instead of throwing it was odd, but she wasn't going to complain!
When Orthrus evolved in the middle of the night during her watch (Hati kind of gets watch rotations but also kind of doesn't while in the city? It's not like they're in the wild anymore. Cities are safe!) Hati immediately had to evolve too. Evolution party! Now as a Midnight Lycanroc, Hati is a lot more boisterous and loves to howl at the moon. Even if she can't see it.

Waking up without Cerberus or any of his other Pokemon did not improve Lupa's traumas. Not at all. He was able to control it down from a full on panic attack to frantic pacing and searching. Well, eventually the new puppy that the guild gave him had enough and so tackled him and sat on his chest until he fell asleep. Lupa's been handling things better since.
Anubis kinda gets it. She had her scoutmate until she suddenly didn't and was in a bad way after. She recognizes in her new human someone who suddenly (tragically?) lost his scoutmate(s), and is in a bad way. And honestly, she feels much more herself now that she's got this human to scout with, and he seems better now too. Win-win.
A lot of Lupa's team are evolving, and Kashaf wants to too. Anubis wants to stay just the way she is though! There are benefits to being small, and she thinks her being just the right size for cuddles helps Lupa too.

Lupa took to patrolling around the Ginko camp, and then scouting out farther once he'd gotten over the shock of yet another place (and time???). He saw an Eevee losing a fight to a Luxio and with the help of Anubis, scared the Luxio off (he was only electrocuted twice. It's fine, really!). Then he picked up the little Eevee and started tending to the little ones' wounds. And now she's following him around. And has totally figured out how to get treats out of even Pokemon proof locations. Because she reminds him of his strategist, Chala is her name now.
Weird human defended her and healed her up?! The Growlithe with him says he's very nice and takes scouting for dangers seriously. She's just a little Eevee in a big, dangerous world and if this will help her survive, she'll take the chance! (He pets her and grooms her fur and it's so nice)
Since working with Lupa and getting a lot stronger, Chala has become much more confident. She might be a little Eevee in a big world, but now she can defend herself from all the dangers with her trainer and friends! And that's what triggered her evolution to Umbreon on the second night of the tournament.
After seeing how useful Steel moves could be (against not-fire types, anyway) during his research for Jasmine, Lupa bought an Iron Tail TM from Olivine. And gave Chala the TM for Sabrina's annoying Mr. Mime.

When Lupa learned that Hisuian Growlithe are almost always found in pairs, he of course wanted to make sure Anubis would always feel comfortable with him! It took a little convincing to let the Ginko Guild let him go to the Coastlands, but once he was there, he did track down another Growlithe... who wasn't already in a pair. Which wasn't as easy as it might seem! After some attempts at communication, a fight, and then some assurances from Anubis, the Growlithe agreed to accompany the odd little group in order to have a scoutmate again.
Kashaf is wary of new people/Pokemon, and clingy once he decides they're friends. Startles easily, and sometimes does that stare into the middle distance. Probably had some bad experiences he can't or won't share even with other Pokemon. Very determined to get stronger as fast as possible (and evolve) to protect his new group.
Now that they're all settled and Lupa has more money, Lupa got Kashaf a fire stone, and it arrived on the first day of the tournament too! Kashaf was thrilled! Until it didn't work. He doesn't know what happened, but not being able to evolve was crushing. And then Orthrus went and evolved that very night which made everything so much worse. Kashaf feels bad about attacking his teammate in the aftermath, and accepted the apology. He's still desperate to find a way to evolve though.
Finally, at the end of October, Lupa got to travel into Mt. Mortar on the way to Mahogany, and Kashaf could evolve! He feels much better now that he's a big, strapping Arcanine.

Now that he's been in a world big enough that travel takes serious time for a while, Lupa's starting to think about making it quicker. Warping everywhere doesn't provide training opportunities, although it can be efficient. Therefor, the best solution is finding a satisfactory flying pokemon!
Not as simple as it sounded. Trying to figure out which birds would grow to a large enough size was one thing. Finding out where they were and getting there something else entirely. Lupa had originally thought that Hisuian Braviary, glimpsed in that last week or so of Hisui, would be a good size, and a good counter to all his fighting-weak dark types. ...except getting even a Hisuian Rufflet might take months.
Rookidee is not what he'd went looking for, but paying more attention to the birds around him made Lupa realize he knew just what name to give her when she somehow managed to keep Skoll chasing himself in circles rather than chasing her. First Pokemon he's actually had at least some intent to recruit from the beginning!
Yatagarasu is a very clever little bird, using her wits to get herself out of (and sometimes into) dangerous situations with stronger Pokemon. It doesn't always work, especially in the more rigid structure of sanctioned trainer battles, but she's come out on top when she shouldn't have just by typing and level alone a couple times.
Yatagarasu hadn't really been planning on evolving all the way. She was fine with staying small and getting faster with just her first evolution in late Sep. And then the puppies got into a brawl (over evolutions, how ironic), Lupa got burned and she had to put her new huge foot down (added Steel typing didn't help her avoid being burned a little too, but Pokemon heal faster than trainers!).

During his week in Ilex, Lupa hadn't intended to recruit any new Pokemon at all, really. Understanding storage doesn't mean he likes it any more than at first, and he doesn't particularly want to have such a large team that some are almost always relegated to storage.
But after being haunted by an upset (but silent) child all through one night, and running into a bunch of Pokemon battles that were not quite what they seemed, Lupa was able to put together that the child and the Pokemon that were suddenly something else had a single cause when a very angry Trevenant descended on them: a Zorua with a particular talent for visual illusions.
What else could he do but recruit the little fellow, and name him Coyote?
Coyote was just playing at first. It's fun to bother humans and other Pokemon. Except this one was especially bothered, but then jumped in the way of him and the Trevenant to protect him??? Trainers aren't strong enough for that, and yet this one weathered an attack and refused to stand down. Some things you just go with, when they happen. Finding a legendarily rare trainer is one of them. So he has a trainer now, and it looks like he won't be able to play as much, but he will be cared for forever so it's a win in the end.
During the evolution fiasco and the ensuing fire dog brawl, Coyote ended up evolving and stepping in to help along with Yatagarasu. You just don't let your trainer get hurt like that when you can do something to stop it! And yeah, Yatagarasu's new steel type wasn't great for stepping in. Anyway, now that things are done, he's a lot better at illusions! That's a plus.

Chala and Barong went to investigate a noise in an alleyway while Lupa was busy keeping watch, and they brought home a new friend! Lupa had no idea there were Eevees in this time too (certainly there's a bunch of differences between Hisuian pokemon and modern ones; just look at the Growlithes!). They all came home covered in who knows what, and Lupa was not looking forward to bath time at all. Luckily for him, both Chala and Barong tolerated it, even if they demanded all the towelling down afterward, and then a super thorough grooming each. And then the new Eevee didn't want to get out of the tub! Lupa eventually drew clean water so the new friend could enjoy splashing around while not getting dirty again. Lupa has a vague idea that Eevees can evolve into different things, and maybe the enjoyment of water means this one might want to evolve into a water type? He'll need to research!
Varuna had only really meant to go to meet the pair's trainer after they saved him from being swamped by a bunch of Trubbish and Grimer out of politeness but turns out this trainer is great! He loves the water, but not the salt and sand that gets matted into his fur from the beach. And now he can get nice fresh water to Eevee-paddle in whenever he wants! And get nice and dry after. Whee!
After a bit of time with Lupa's team and a trip to the department store, Varuna is ready to evolve! One Water Stone later, and he's a lithe Vaporeon.

Working for someone who has so many Eevees must have rubbed off. Second Eevee Lupa's encountered who wanted to join him in a week. In fact, Lupa wonders if the Eevee was looking for him specifically, because it sure was strange for the little one to practically jump into his pack and make Baby-Doll Eyes until Lupa got a ball for him. Lupa knows more about Eevee evolution now, and hopes to convince Elu to evolve into an Espeon once they're comfortable with each other.
It's gotten around to many of the wild Eevees in Goldenrod that there are a few prime choices if one wants a trainer, each with a different style. Elu discovered that Lupa isn't the super-tall trainer that takes in Eevees that are having a rough time after the fact. But he's already gotten attached, and even if Lupa isn't the Eevee specialist he was looking for, Lupa does take really good care of him! As for evolving, well, Elu is undecided. Flareon is definitely out. This trainer sure has a lot of fire types! Actually... Leafeon and Glaceon are out too; he's not brave enough to go grass or ice type near so many 'one tickled nose away from a fireball sneeze' canines. Still leaves him with way too many options. Ah, the blessing and curse of being an Eevee.

Unlike Fred (and most Snubbulls for that matter), Hayatarou is very much into battling, and will push herself in training very hard. She wants to be the best to protect her new family! May be in a(n one sided) competition with Kashaf to see who gets to 100 faster and isn't at all intimidated by Kashaf's significant head start. Also joined the team in part because she has a slight crush on Fred (he's shiny, so sue her) even if she doesn't want to admit it.
Evolved into Granbull after hardly any time with Lupa's team. She's very dedicated (and did it to make Kashaf jealous because haha, she's not dependant on a stone to evolve! ...this may have contributed to the evolution brawl being the blowup it turned into.).

Lupa was doing a bit of pre-gym warmup outside Celedon when Skoll came back from a zoomies session with a friend! Fenrir enjoys a good romp as much as the next dog, but isn't as single mindedly focused on it as Skoll. May actually be a little worried that the other lightning pup is gonna run right into a ground type and get bulldozed to worse than fainting. Watch where you're going Skoll! He totally didn't accompany Skoll back to his trainer to make sure Skoll actually got there. Not at all! Never happened. Has decided to stick around because Lupa is clearly one of the good ones. But mostly because it's cool to be with a trainer who clearly appreciates the best lines of Pokemon (the dog lines, that is).
Keeping up with Skoll is a full time job, so Fenrir has gained levels very fast, and finally decided to evolve so he could take on a certain gym better...

The moonlit swarm of puppies caught Lupa's attention. He and his puppies got in a lot of battles with the roving packs, and at the end of them, one of the Mightyena decided to stay with them, even selecting a ball a couple days later!
When one is part of a roving battle band, usually acquiring a trainer is furthest from anybody's mind, but when a trainer shows up with very good strategy, and the strongest Houndoom you've ever seen (and a strong Midnight Lycanroc too) sometimes exceptions need to be made. Mehtap mostly just wanted to figure out what such strong canine pokemon saw in this guy, and was planning to make a dash for it once her curiosity was satisfied. But, well, Lupa and the pack grew on her. They're all so nice. Rude, really.

Pegasis will fight when it's necessary, but honestly he'd rather fly away if that's an option. Or give people his fruit to make them not want to fight at all! Getting used to a trainer that's very serious about battling is going to take some time. On the other hand he's very well taken care of! Worth it.
On Lupa's side of things, strange plant Pokemon giving him fruit that grows out of it? And the fruit tastes good? Yeah, he needs this one on his team for when the next weird weekend hits. Also a backup flyer is never a bad thing to have. Pegasis doesn't look at all like the demon Lupa named him after, but Lupa's given up searching for a more equine looking four legged flying creature. Pegasis has four legs and he flies! Close enough.

Lupa is still feeling vaguely disquieted by a lot of water gathered in one place, but he's working on it, and part of that was having Varuna tow him around with Surf while he was in a little rowboat he'd rented at the Lake of Rage. Lupa got in a lot of fishing, to help his team get better at fighting water types even with a disadvantage. And then fished up a real beauty with a bit of Tropius fruit the pack hadn't finished for lunch! First Pokemon he'd seen that even a little reminded him of Mere's demon avatar. So he caught her, and she's now named Tiamat.
Tiamat was really just minding her own business but Tropius fruit! She missed the hook in the fruit, and is frankly glad she was caught instead of fainted and dropped back into the water. The trainer even asked politely! At least, she's pretty sure that's what his gesture of offering the ball instead of throwing it was. And she knows why he was fishing now! Poor trainer had a team full of mostly fire types, and just a single Vaporeon. Very smart to have a water type like her on the team now!

The legs are far too short to reach the ground, and mostly lay folded against Sahasrara's stomach, but they can move, and even have some limited strength for gripping things.
